When AFP test is done?
If your doctor recommends an AFP test, it is usually done between weeks 16 and 18 of pregnancy (during the second trimester). The results of your AFP blood test can alert your doctor to possible birth defects. A high level of AFP can be an indication of a neural tube defect such as spina bifida
Category: Single tests

Almost all of the T3 (and T4) found in the blood is bound to protein. The rest is free (unbound) and is the biologically active form of the hormone. Tests can measure the amount of free T3 or the total T3 (bound plus unbound) in the blood. Most of the hormone produced by the thyroid is T4.
